Terms & Conditions

Participants in Tenterfield Show Scarecrow Competition can deliver their Scarecrow to the JK Reid Pavilion on Thursday 5th February, 2026 between 4 – 6pm

Judging will take place on Friday 6th February.

Each Scarecrow is to be no taller than 2 metres high and 2 metres wide. All Scarecrows must be free-standing and easy to move as necessary.

All Scarecrows will be kept undercover overnight for safe keeping and repositioned by a member of the Tenterfield Show Committee on both Show days.

One Entry only from any individual, family, school, club or association

The Tenterfield Show Committee will decide and allocate placement for all Scarecrow Entries.

Each Scarecrow will be allocated an Entry Number which will be displayed on the Scarecrow.

Judging will be via number only. The Judging panel will have no reference or knowledge of who created each Scarecrow.

Entry Forms can be collected and filled in from the JK Reid Pavilion on delivery of the Scarecrow.

Whilst all care will be undertaken by The Tenterfield Show Committee for the preservation of each Scarecrow entry, The Tenterfield Show Committee takes no responsibility for the maintenance or condition of the Scarecrow while on the Grounds.

Scarecrows can be collected from the Reid Pavilion on Sunday 8th February, 2026 from 8.30am -10.30am.

Scarecrow entries are judged based on the following criteria:

Creativity – Colourful. Pretty. Scary. Happy. Or all of the above! Think outside of the box and use your creativity to show us something unique and imaginative while highlighting our 2026 Show Theme – ‘Celebrating the Past and Growing the Future’

Craftsmanship – Show off your skills with a variety of materials and techniques putting your scarecrow together.

Name – Help tell your scarecrow’s story with a name that will stand out!
