The following protocols were developed by the Tenterfield Show Society Inc. and the Honorary Veterinarian Dr John Brown in August 2001, for guidance and the requirements of the Show. A small committee, consisting of the Show President, members of the sheep committee and the Honorary Veterinarian developed the protocols and then took them to the full committee of the Show Society for their approval. The protocols were endorsed by the Society in September 2001.
AIMS OF PROTOCOL
• To minimise and reduce the risk of any exhibitor bringing any disease to the show and its environment.
• To minimise and reduce the risk of any disease being contracted during the show, by having in place a physical environment that is clean and safe.
• To minimise and reduce the risk of any disease being contracted during the show, by conducting the show in accordance with health standards required by the Honorary Veterinarian and external bodies who have set guidelines for maintaining compliance for accreditation.
